Restoration of Lady Victory
A Joint Meeting with ICRI

Victoria (Tory) EmryIn late 2010 it was decided that the Victory Statue was in need of repair, and that the statue would be have to be removed for the first time since it was installed in 1893. This required the efforts of a large team of architects, engineers, and contractors to coordinate the many challenges of re moving Victory from her perch 285 feet above Monument Circle.

Our Speaker: Victoria (Tory) Emery is a registered Professional Engineer with 17 years of experience in structural engineering design and analysis with ARSEE Engineers, Inc., in Fishers, IN. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. She worked on the restoration of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument for three years, designing a new Christmas light cable connection, a new roof structure for the observation deck, and the reinforcing of the existing structural steel supporting the Victory Statue. Tory served as the lead engineer for the Victory project and will discuss the project from an engineer’s viewpoint.
